Made so anyone can learn to master.
MasterScope and Liminal are free because we wanted to give people a powerful tool to learn and master the art of mastering. Not a cut-down trial, not a teaser for a subscription: the real thing.
Who's behind it
MasterScope is made by Grant Walker at GW Studio, an independent studio in Australia. It started as a tool for answering the questions every producer hits when they finish a track: why does mine sound quieter than everything else on the playlist, is it loud enough, and will it survive Spotify and YouTube? It grew into three things that work together.
What we believe
- Your music is yours. Nothing you analyse is uploaded. No account, no sign-up, no upload limits.
- Explain, don't just measure. A number on its own doesn't help. Every finding says what it means for your track and what to try.
- Free for real. Liminal has no ads, no paywalled features and no trial timer, and never will.
How it's paid for
A small number of sponsors appear on the website, always labelled and chosen to be useful to the people reading: plug-ins, monitoring, distribution and release tools. There are no tracking pixels or ad networks, and sponsors never see anything about you. If you make something producers need, see Advertise.
